Well I have only been blogging what a year..My goal for 2011 is to definitely be more consistent in the blogging world and throw up some videos as well..Hopefully it will happen..In the meantime wishing you and yours a Great New Years be safe!! I will see ya in 2011!

Family pics

So my brothers were in town this weekend the reason being we were going to do family pics! Well family pics are very difficult with six adults and now that my blood pressure has been risen I vow not to do them again for a few years!!!!! With that group more less!!

Time..

Blogging is sooo time consuming and I have not been doing well with giving my blog it's time. I have not been doing a whole lot of things with my curls because of the winter. I have been sticking to the cute straight look..I have not been rocking the bangs..I have mixed emotions about them but hey it's still been cute..But I miss my curls to death and trust they will be back in about 2 WEEKS! Tutorials will be in full effect!


However in the midst of my straight hair look I have tried a couple of new wines in my life that I shall share..Being that it is now winter, I am all 100% red..Red wines are much more relaxing and calming to me at the end of a hard day or just when wanting to hang with friends.. At the top of my list is as always the Barefoot Brand..This is such an inexpensive but great wine brand..I fell in love with the Moscato and Riesling and now I am all about the Cabernet..which has become a big favorite of mine along with their Sweet Red/Zinfandel mix.

Now along with Barefoot I have come to really enjoy the Tisdale brand..

They are actually a house brand of Kroger! Go figure..However they are a California wine..I got hip at a tasting..Kroger has 3 brands...from pricey to cheap this is their cheap brand but OMG soooo TASTY! Now obviously with the holidays everyone is having parties and you are trying to decide on a good signature drink..For me those 2 wine options would definitely be on top..However I always am open to throwing in another fave my Menage a Trois Red Blend.

So their are a couple of options for you and opinions of mine..Other than that life is good..It's the Holidays and love is in the air and work is slow but hey that's what happens in December right!..So Happy Holidays to all..I will try and be back b-4 the New Year but I really don't know if that will be..

New Title New Everything!!!

So I decided to change my title because I really want to try and let my blog be about the hair and products I love along with my crazy love for wine. So lets jump right in..

This weekend I was able to experience with the Kinky Curly line and 2 words LOVE IT! My hair loves this stuff..it came out very soft and fluffy and my curls decided to actually stay curled..It was amazing.. I had been using a oatmeal and honey shampoo and Yes to Cucumbers and my hair did like the Yes to Cucumbers but not as much as Knot Today..I also realized that my hair works well with light gels which the curling custard is vs. the butters and creams like Shea Moisture curling smoothie which left me with a very oily kind of crunchy head with no real curl flow. I received tons of compliments..Now today which is day 2 was also great..Same deal nice soft hair with curls..I will probably re twist tonight and see what develops for tomorrow..So with out further ado here are day1 and day 2 pics..

Twist Out Hottie

Sooo I decided on a twist out and this is what happened..First i did the chunky kind and it just didn't work.I did not like the look and the twist were uggggly..So I took my new concoction I have been using and re twisted but this time as flat twist, let them air out and BAM not only did I get some definition..But my hair was super soft and had more wave to it..I am in love with it already! Now for the pics...

My hair is layer so it really looks like a layered curly look..However I love the fact that it is layered it really gives my hair soo much volume..If you are interested in my potion I used to twist up let me know..I also put some EVO on my ends to protect and use Shea Moisture Curly Smoothie as well..Ohhh and of course my new fav leave in Yes to Cucumbers!

Since I have been a bad blogger I am on picture over load..We ended up going to Fl for Vacation which was perfectly fine, we got to eat at one of my favorite places Bahama Breeze and we went with our closest buds which made for a good time...So most of the pics will be of Florida and wedding and kid pics!! Oh and of course MY HAIR!!! But to start off!! The 7 year old..do you see how old he is starting to look ohh the progression.. Towards the middle their is a pic of my niece who turned 1 on us already!! That was at her party which I will show more pics of..However I did feel neglection of pics which is why I went on a post splurge..

BTW!!!! Momma finally got a new JOB!! I am sooo ecstatic! More to come later.

Braids out Big Hair again!! Deep Conditioning..

So yesterday I decided to take out my braids that had been in for all of 5 weeks..I really missed my hair! Not to mention my hubs loves when I wear my natural styles..I tried a new shampoo from catwalk along with my normal design elements. It was an oatmeal and honey blend and I LOVED how as I shampooed and washed my curls were sooo defined..Having the braids in did help a WHOLE lot with my transition..I have like one piece of hair that is just refusing to curl..Don't be surprised if I just cut it one day..So anyway while over at Curly Nikki I saw this recipe for a honey and olive oil conditioner..Yesterday I tried it..I did not sit in the tub but I did wrap my hair in a warm moist towel for what seemed like forever..After I co washed my hair some more with my Moroccan Oil conditioner..Left me with very soft moisturized hair..I used a curly smoothie as well before I set my hair and OMG I am in love..I mean even while my hair was drying it was soo soft and I could very much see a difference.I will be taking my twist out today and I will post a pic I am hoping for good results as I had to use my Garner Curly styling cream yesterday because I was out of my Silky Milk.:(..I probably won't do too much to my hair since I will be going to my annual stylist appt this week.

In other news my little man started swimming and I could not be more proud, my big man started school and that makes me smile..and yet of course I have decided through great friends and advising to continue as well..I can't keep giving up and so I will not. The hubs and I are celebrating 2 wonderful years of marriage this week and my favorite niece turns 1..I can not believe she is already 1 it seems like we were just at the hospital..I will be sure to post picks of this weekends events..We also have a wedding to go to so this weekend should be a douse for us!! Well I think I will get to working soo I will chat with you all later..

Wife,Mother,Student,what else...

So lately I have realized that my role as a wife/mother/employee has just spiraled out of control..I mean really!...We as woman have several different hats to wear and I did not really realize it until last night as I sat with a nice refreshing glass and chatted it up with a close friend..We as woman tend to always put ourselves on back burner and if we are not careful we will totally and completely forget about ourselves. I don't know if this applies to all woman, but I know for myself this is a very present situation I am in. I must truly make sure my heart is in the right place and that I don't get any bitterness towards my husband or my son. That is not at all healthy..The most recent decision I have made was to go back to school and as easy as I thought it would be with one child (an active one at that), a full time job,full time school and my hubs being a full time engineering student it was not. So guess who has to put her degree on back burner again...you guessed it..I love my husband and I know that it will be more beneficial to let him finish his degree first b/c he will then be able to support the fam while I go back to school. I think as much as we say that things have changed I must say I really don't think so. I still believe that we sacrifice way more than our men and our children, but we love them and we do things like that for the people we love.

Summer's over...Im kinda glad!

So in less then 6 days my little crumb cruncher will be saying bye mom and really walk off to the bus as I watch..will I be sad honestly NOOOOO!!! lol see as much as it pains me to see how fast my little homie is growing up, I realize that is just what he is doing though. Growing up..It has been such a joy to watch him go from baby to toddler to big kid and now this is like BOY season..where all he wanted for clothes this time were polos and hoodies and that's cool..but no more matching outfits.That is so KDG. :) Nothing glamorous in my world these days..We are counting down until our Florida trip. Bags will be getting packed like soon..We will be there for 8 whole days with some of our good friends and I cannot wait. Of course I will come back with many pics and humorous stories.. Football has been going very well my son has actually been doing pretty good and I am interested, to see how he continues. He will start competitive swimming this fall as well so I am officially a taxi driver from now until 16 unless a law passes that allows him to drive sooner..(Naw not happening) Well I am going to go as always...

I got Nothing!!!

Today I have nothing..I could talk more about football and the kid however since I am not at home I cant upload pics...I could also talk hair but again NO PICS!! so I will just promise you that by the end of the week I will be on picture overload with pics of me, the hubs,and the son all footballed up and ready to go!

So we were headed to Vegas and thennnn we met Mr. Davis's fav cuzin..with that being said we are stacking and going to Albuquerque New Mexico later this yr. to visit..I think this will be such an exciting time to visit in a new place..As well as a great learning experience for my son..So planning is in full effect..Very excited..

I know I have been such a bad blogger I have been OOT on bizness and let me tell you after 8 hours in training..and then 8 hours in janky traffic the cosmo I had yesterday was soooo needed. Normally I would have had my Riesling and been happy but not this time..The Riesling was tossed out the door and a stiff one it was! I could not believe how terrible it was just to get home, but hey we made it safe so I was pleased! Well I am about to run and do a quick workout just wanted to stop in and say hi!!As always

I guess Vegas!!

So after much deliberation and still a little deliberating the hubs and I will be making our anniversary trip to Vegas unless flights get real cheap to the Caribbean and Mexico..However because my hubs lives to make me happy we decided to go and stay HERE (hint it starts with a W and causes me to smile in a majorly huge way!!!) The excitement is coming in especially since tickets are all booked and we r set to go..This will be our first vacation alone since we got married..OMGEEEEEE I am soooo readyyyyyyy..Like my flow...The reviews have been awesome so fingers cross we have a BLAST! which I know we will..

Soo guess who back...Jersey Shore!!!! Another guilty pleasure of mine..I couldn't watch last night because of course I had to experience the birth of Ms. Bryn from Bethenny and Jason. All I will say is all this reality show stuff is really major. It is like a major addiction that I may really want to get looked into. Well not much to say today just thought I would give you some updates..I am going to get back to work..Tomm is Kel's first little football game..I am nervous and excited for him all in one..I will let you know how it goes next wk. For now...

My Guilty Pleasure!! Real Housewive of Jersey!!

OMG they have got to be the best when it comes to great drama for TV!!! I normally am in bed by 9:30 ohh but last night I made sure I stayed up to watch these ladies go at it..My all time fav chic is Theresa just something about that good ol Italian chic..I luv luv luv her..I know this may sound bad but purchasing of the Jersey girls DVD's sets will take place. I mean I love em all but Jersey is at the top.I am very excited about the DC installment..I wish they would do a midwest installment that could be for some good humor as well..Heck at this point all reality is humor.. On a side note I do believe that Danielle is soo super xtra and I do not care for her. She is like a toxic breed but I guess she makes for good TV right??

B&B vs. Hotel Chain..

Sooo I am thinking of a weekend getaway nothing fancy just something chill and nice..I am having some problems..I don't know if we should do a B&B or a reg chain. We normally do a chain..however we are very modern kids and I don't know if a chain would be the best for us. So for those of you out in Internet world who are reading I would love your thoughts on B&B's vs hotel chains..

Happy Monday!!! Wine Tasting anyone???

Sooo this weekend was pretty great!! We did nothing on Friday which surprisingly is how I like it sometime..But it was just good times with my family. Saturday we went to a wine tasting at The Wise Owl Wine Bar. It was our first tasting as we are just now getting hipped to thing call fine wines. There were 5 wines we sampled...A Brut, Riesling (my fav), Pinot Noir, Merlot, and a Zin blend...Now we are normally white drinkers but I must say the Pinot and the Zin blend, very good.We had our wines paired with certain apps, which definitely helped. Our Wine Sommelier definitely educated us on some things and it was just different. I will definitely go back. On Sunday we went to church and then brunch after which we said goodbye to our dear dog..We just could not keep him in our small space anymore so needless to say we took him to a nice shelter b/c we could not find a new home in the allotted time. Needless to say my son was very sad to see him go, however after a numerous amount of events last week can't say I was sad..When we get a bigger place I know we will definitely get a dog where they have space to go nuts.. Okay well I think it is officially time for me to get back to work but before I do I wanted to introduce you all to that cutie to your left..This my dear folks is my dear niece..Is she not too cute...She is making her debut as of today to the blogging world!!

A different style for July!!

I don't know about you guys but it has gotten majorly hot around my parts. With that being said I had to find a free hair style that would not cringe in this heat..I did a twist out yesterday and let it stay twisted for the whole day!! Needless to say I did not make an appearance to the outside world..Sorry I just cannot go out with a net or scarf on my head..It is a hot mess. (Don't judge me) Check out the pic and let me know your thoughts..Preferably positive ones..however I can deal.. well i gotta work but you know me...

OMG!!! Work from home.. easier my arse!

So today I worked from home and I was like busting my lil tushy to do this..I mean I had so much work so updating the blog was not number one on my mind..However I did want to hop on and let you know how Kel did. It was not as bad as I thought he did an outstanding job and our evening ended very nice...Until we got home and the dog CHEWED through his crate and decided to mark his territory not once, not twice, but three times in our home..You know I was mad..fuming and we have officially decided to look for him a new home.We just can't in the new place. Sooo sorry lil Shadow...
On to another note I re twisted my hair and it is soo amazing to see the change of how my hair is evolving..The texture and just even how I am embracing it. I totally am loving it. I will be sure to post pics soon so you all can see the progression..Well I know a couple of post ago I was trying to tell you all of another great wine I love and I got the title...It is called Three Blind Moose. It a nice sweet Riesling that is great for the summer..I definitely recommend it for anyone who likes a nice sweet wine..Tomm I will give you a review on one of my fav red choices.. Now please note I am in now way a Wine novice however, I am definitely getting hipped to some of them and learning about them and the different vineyards. Again I love suggestions...

I have been dreading this day for almost 7yrs..

So it has been pretty calm around my office space today. Not to much going on..So today is the day..what day is that.Today my 7 yr old with that really cute face will be starting football..I have mixed emotions. Sometimes he is riot other times he is just mamas boy..He is slowly moving away from that being up under me little 3 yr old that I loved cuddling with. NO FAIR!!!! I guess I will have to suck it up..But I will chase any kid that pounds my son! Pray for me folks..
So this weekend was pretty intense as you know I was moving..Moving is not for the light at heart and it really lets you know your age when you are done. I have two new projects for the month of July..upholstering my dining room table chairs and bringing a very seductive mood to the bedroom..I have already started in both areas and will post pics when done. Hopefully the new comp will be there too!!!!

The 4th!!

Well it's the 4th of July and for some reason it hardly does not feel like it..Maybe because we have been moving allll weekend and are finally settled in!!! I am loving the new spot it is definitely much smaller than before but hey sacrifices while the hubs is in school. I have been working on and off all weekend and have to continue tomm as well. Moving is not a fun sport and I will not do it anymore for a lonnnnggg time..hint why i will be working tomm.. Not much too say on this day I will say that I am very tired and maybe tomm I will be back with some real talk.

Call me a Slacker or What!!!!

So life has been very good these days..I have started a new job and my hubs and I are working out and it has been a challenge as it has been FOREVER and I feel the weight falling off little by little..We are in moving processes right now so please pray for us as I personally hate moving and he just hates packing. I am excited to get settled though b/c we are getting a new dining room and TV set so that makes me just smile..My hair journey is yet progressing..The relaxer is out and my hair is fierce!!!

So the hubs and I have been visiting some new churches recently and we really have enjoyed ourselves..I really enjoy the more contemporary churches vs the traditional..It just fits my family more in my own opinion. I hope you all are having a great summer.. I really can say I am God is just that good huh!! The hubs and I did find a new Reisling that we thought we would share if only I could rememeber the name..I will say that Barefoot Brands have become such a hit in our house and not because of cost but they are just good!! We are planning a trip to The Lakehouse Inn & Winery in August and ohhh how excited I am..Since Napa is across the world and way expensive..a drive up the street will do. The reviews are awesome and I cannot explain how excited I am..Just the hubs and I right before school starts back up and our trips become limited..Well I am headed back to work...

Another Weekend Gone!!! Happy Tuesday!

Yet another weekend has left us in the dust, luckily it was pretty nice and the hubs and I truly relaxed!! I mean like slept the whole day away type relax. I surprised him with a trip to the movies to go see Iron Man2 and he was like in heaven, and even though I slept through the WHOLE movie I yet heard some of the most ignorant kids on earth that truly bothered me. I mean what happened to curfews!!! Well today is Happy Tuesday :) make sure you brighten someones day with your precious smile. After work I am off to 2nd grade orientation..Is it ok to cry yet..Good day!!

HAIR!!!!!!

 

Natural hair at that!! I am currently transitioning and in said pic above I believe I was about 14 months post relaxer..My hair was not as straight as I was hoping but it came out great and I enjoy it!! I am now in braids trying to decide on my next style..I really want to be a twisted out girl for the summer but I will need to see the condition of my hair..Then again maybe I will just throw the braids back in or even transition to Kinky twists.However when I do my kinky twists i normally only give them a month..I probably sound real confusing so I will just stop right now. It is so quiet around the house b/c the boys are not here so I really don't know what to do..How about I just relax...

So where does the time go when working hard!!

I know my blogging sucks!!!!

So I keep going on and off with this blogging thing...However I promise to do much better now..Life is getting better..I officially have a new job and am going to be back among the normalcy of adults in an 8-5 jobs...Wont he do it..(he=King Jesus)..The adjustment to me working has been wild to say..When you have been out for a whole year and then all of sudden are back in the game you have to take a second to adjust..Luckily my house did not look to crazy this week..I also was even able to keep up slightly with laundry!!!My little boy is officially headed off to second grade in T-minus 14 days and I am soo sad about this.Why because he is growing up soo fast. He keeps bugging about a little one but I guess patience just was a quality he did not grab from either parent..I am soo excited for this weekend it may be a little piece of relaxation my little ones have their concert and I know they are going to do so well..They are the cutest of kids and I love those little girls so much even though they sometime work a nerve I really love em!!! Not to mention I have made some great friends out of the parents. Well im wrapping up the day but I promise to be back with pics and a post!!
